Step #1:
Push the black cap aside. Notice the deck wash valve's inside wall has two ball-like protrusions facing eachother.
These will guide the connector in place when engaging
the deck wash. |
|
Step #2:
To engage, point the arrow on the connector’s
handle so it lines up with the JABSCO
logo. This will line up the groove on the connector
with the ball on the valve. If the connector is brand new, it helps to have
a dab of petroleum jelly on the connector’s
orings to help facilitate the engaging until the
connector is worn in. |
|
Step #3:
Once ball is at the beginning of the connector’s
groove, TWIST CLOCKWISE. You DO NOT need to push.
This motion can be done single-handed and should not require much strength. If you find the connector difficult to engage, first dab some petroleum jelly on the orings. If it is still difficult, call us at New Found Metals to trouble-shoot the problem further. |
|
Step #4:
Full engagement requires 90 degree twist clockwise.
Connector will lock in place. To disengage, push
in slightly and twist counterclockwise.
Slide cap back over valve when not in use. If seaweed or other material falls into valve, you can depress the valve directly with a pencil (keeping your face out of the way, of course) and the water pressure from your system with blow the valve clean.
